Via Marchionis is a medieval trade route that for centuries connected Brandenburg with Gdańsk, constituting a key corridor of trade and cultural exchange between Western Europe and the Baltic Sea. Today, its legacy survives in the form of National Road 22 in Poland, German Road 1, the Ostbahn railway line and the International Waterway E-70.
Mission of the Via Marchionis project
Our goal is to breathe new life into this historic route and transform it into one of the most exciting tourist attractions in Central Europe! The project includes
- Development of sustainable tourism – we create an offer combining history, nature and active recreation.
- Integration of attractions - we combine the cultural and natural heritage on both sides of the Oder.
- Building a strong tourist brand - we promote Via Marchionis as an international route of travel and discovery.
- Infrastructure development - we are improving the motorboat route and tourist service points.
- A modern promotional campaign – we reach tourists from Poland, Germany and all over Europe!
